Macedonians are basically Bulgarians who, due to historical politics, were left out of the nation state of Bulgaria. Now of course they want the autonomy of their own nation state and given the hardships that the Macedonians have gone throught to get out from under the political control of other ethnic groups, they deserve it. It is sad that of all their real problems the issue of the name of the country has had the most public attention.
